Do you know someone who has made an outstanding contribution to raising awareness for Smith-Magenis syndrome and the SMS Foundation?
Nominate a person for the #AlexJowitt award which honours nominees for their achievements in raising awareness for our cause.
The Foundation was first started as a support group in 1992 by Julie Jowitt following her son Alex’s diagnosis of Smith-Magenis syndrome. With the help of Contact-A-Family, the group developed from an initial set of six families by writing to doctors all over the world who then sent information and referred families to Julie. Learn more about the history of The SMS Foundation.
In recognition of Julie setting up the original charity 30 years ago, we have created the Alex Jowitt award. The award aims to honour all the nominees who have made an outstanding contribution to raising awareness of SMS and the Foundation.
Fill in the form below to enter your nomination, the closing date is 15th April 2022. The SMS Foundation Trustees will select a winner and present the award during the 30th-anniversary celebration dinner at our conference in May.
