Making A Purchase
Making a purchase is simple, add any items that you wish to buy into the shopping cart. After you have finished your selection, click on ‘Checkout’ and you will be asked for a few details that we need to be able to complete the order. Payment is through PayPal, which also accepts card payments. If you are shopping from another country, place your order and PayPal will convert the transaction to your own currency. Items are charged for when orders are accepted, but if it is subsequently found that your selection is out of stock and/or cannot be delivered within 14 days you will be emailed with the option to cancel the order and receive a refund if you do not want to wait for the backordered item to come into stock. If you have made a mistake in your order and cannot correct it in the shopping cart, contact us and we will try to correct the mistake. When we send you a confirmation of your order and/or a payment receipt, this is to indicate that we have received your order. It does not indicate that a contract exists between us. We will indicate acceptance of your order, and hence a contract between us, when we send you an invoice. We have included this term to protect us in the case that a mistake has been made in pricing, we have inadvertently under-priced goods, or we are no longer able to supply a particular product for some reason. In the case of a change of price, we will always contact you first to ensure that the price is acceptable.
Shipping
We aim to dispatch your order to you as soon as possible and most items are despatched by Royal Mail second class post within 5 days of ordering but please allow up to 14 days for delivery within the UK. Larger parcels will be despatched by a courier of our choice. Orders for delivery to an address outside the UK will be dispatched within the same timescale but may be subject to increased transit time in the postal system. Postal charges are based on product weight and a small handling fee is included to cover packaging costs. We do not actively seek to make a profit from postage and packaging charges.
Delivery
We will normally send your order by Royal Mail second class post (untracked) within 5 days of ordering, and often much faster! Large items or items weighing >2kg will be despatched by courier. International orders will take longer, and sometimes much longer. We always ship quickly but can’t guarantee delivery processes once goods leave the UK. You must inform us within two working days if the goods are damaged in transit, so that we can make a prompt claim against the delivery company and correct the problem and within a reasonable time if they do not arrive and are presumed lost. Please quote your order number in all correspondence. You agree that proof of delivery supplied by our delivery company (where applicable) is sufficient evidence to establish that goods have been received.
Back Orders
If your item is not in stock, we will back order for you. You will always be emailed with the option to cancel your order if you would rather not wait.
Tax Charges
Prices quoted include relevant UK taxes.
Credit Card Security
All transactions take place between the customer and our payment gateway Paypal. Credit card numbers are not entered onto the Smith-Magenis Syndrome Foundation UK website.

Returns Policy
Your rights to return goods are protected under the EU Distance Selling Directive. If for any reason you are not happy with the item you may cancel and return the item to us within 14 days, as long as you pay the postage to return the item(s). Please obtain and keep a proof of postage of returns. If we are not able to supply you with the item today, the 14 days runs from the date you receive it. If the goods are faulty, we will refund the postage costs for you to return the item to us. To exercise the right to cancel, you must inform the Smith-Magenis Syndrome Foundation UK, at info@smith-magenis.co.uk or Smith-Magenis Syndrome Foundation UK, 61 High Street, Pewsey, Wiltshire, SN9 5AF, of your decision to cancel this contract by a clear statement (e.g. a letter sent by post or email).
Effects of cancellation
If you cancel this contract, we will reimburse to you all payments received from you, including the standard cost of delivery. We may make a deduction from the reimbursement for loss in value of any goods supplied, if the loss is the result of unnecessary handling by you. We will make the reimbursement without undue delay, and not later than –
(a) 14 days after the day we receive back from you any good supplied, or
(b) (if earlier) 14 days after the day you provided evidence that you have returned the goods, or
c) if there were no goods supplied, 14 days after the day on which we are informed about your decision to cancel this contract.
We will make the reimbursement using the same means of payment as you used for the initial transaction, unless you have expressly agreed otherwise; in any event, you will not incur any fees as a result of the reimbursement. We may withhold reimbursement until we have received the goods back or you have supplied evidence of having sent back the goods, whichever is the earliest.
If you have received the goods in connection with the contract:
(a) You shall send back the goods or hand them over to us or to 61 High Street, Pewsey, Wiltshire SN9 5AF, without undue delay and in any event not later than 14 days from the day on which you communicate your cancellation from this contract to us. The deadline is met if you send back the goods before the period of 14 days has expired.
(b) You will have to bear the direct cost of returning the goods. If the goods by their nature cannot normally be returned by post and have been delivered to the consumer’s home at the time of the conclusion of the contract: we will collect the goods at our own expense.
(c) You are only liable for any diminished value of the goods resulting from the handling other than what is necessary to establish the nature, characteristics and functioning of the goods.
