Charity of The Year Partnership
Consider making The SMS Foundation your corporate charity of the year and experience the benefits of this partnership. By choosing us as your charity of the year, you can enhance your company’s reputation, inspire your team, and elevate your corporate profile. We’ll support you by coordinating volunteering sessions, pro bono opportunities, informative awareness talks, and collaborative events, fostering a meaningful and impactful partnership that aligns with your corporate values.
We’d like to thank to the following organisations for their support this year:
Employee Fundraising
Support The SMS Foundation through employee fundraising initiatives. Encourage your staff to come together and have a great time while making a meaningful impact by organising their fundraising events. From casual coffee mornings and dress-down days to daring adventures like skydiving experiences, there are endless creative ideas to choose from. Your team’s enthusiasm and contributions will help raise essential funds that directly benefit families living with SMS.
Gifts in Kind
In-kind contributions to The SMS Foundation are highly appreciated. Our goal is to maximise the impact of every donated penny on our work. Your support could take various forms, such as supplying food and beverages for one of our events, contributing prizes for a prize draw or raffle, or assisting with the design and printing of our fundraising materials and digital marketing campaigns. The opportunities are limitless, and we eagerly welcome your company’s ideas on how you can help us minimise our expenses.
Volunteering
Nurturing strong connections with our volunteers is a top priority. When you volunteer with us, you not only bolster our workforce but also bring a wealth of valuable skills and experiences that directly benefit our community. Your employees have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by lending their support to any of our programmes, or services, or by contributing to the success of our activities and events. Your involvement can truly make a difference in our mission.
Payroll Giving
Payroll giving is one of the easiest and most efficient ways you can support the Smith-Magenis Syndrome Foundation UK. Your employer should be able to set this up for you quite easily – here is all the information you should need.
Get in touch to find out more about Payroll Giving at fundraising@smith-magenis.co.uk.
What is payroll giving?
Payroll giving (also known as ‘Give As You Earn’) is an easy way for employees to give regularly to a charity such as the Smith-Magenis Syndrome Foundation UK.
How does it work?
Every time you’re paid, a donation amount of your choice is taken from your pay before tax is deducted. So, if you pledge to donate £5 per month, it would actually only cost you £4 if you pay tax at 20%, or £3 per month if you pay tax at 40%.
Setting up payroll giving is easy. You just need to let your HR/Payroll team know that you’d like to make a regular payroll giving donation to the Smith-Magenis Syndrome Foundation UK (Charity Number 1186647).
What are the benefits?
As donations are automatically deducted before tax is calculated, it is one of the most simple and tax-efficient ways of giving to us. Once your employer confirms your payroll giving arrangement has been set up, you’ll have the peace of mind of knowing that a regular donation is being made, in your name, to the Smith-Magenis Syndrome Foundation UK – and you won’t have to do anything more.
It’s especially helpful to us because your donation automatically includes tax relief so we don’t need to claim Gift Aid. The only way that higher rate taxpayers can automatically pass their tax to charity is through Payroll Giving, meaning you’re able to give more to charity, at a lower cost to you.
Your regular contribution will mean that we can plan well into the future and make sure we can continue to provide vital services to all families living with SMS who need us the most.
