Become an SMS Awareness Ambassador

Becoming an SMS Awareness Ambassador is an opportunity to be a powerful voice for our community and beyond.

Our Awareness Ambassadors play a crucial role in raising awareness and fostering a deeper understanding of SMS, acting as the voices that bridge the gap between our community and the world beyond. Presentations and awareness events can be organised locally with groups, schools, workplaces, or any interested parties eager to learn more about SMS. Your dedication is an invaluable benefit to everyone involved.

Our commitment to you will be:

  • Equip you with the resources and awareness materials necessary for your role.
  • We will enhance your knowledge and provide any technical or SMS-specific training you may require (although if you’re a caregiver, you likely already possess a wealth of knowledge!).
  • Presentations and awareness events can be conveniently scheduled around your routine and tailored to your local community’s needs, ensuring flexibility and accessibility for all involved.

Join our dedicated team of Project Volunteers, you’ll gain so much in return:

  • The experience of being an Awareness Ambassador is not only impactful but also personally rewarding.
  • You’ll have the satisfaction of knowing that you are actively supporting families living with SMS by expanding awareness and understanding beyond our community.
  • You’ll build meaningful relationships and friendships within our vibrant community and gain confidence and presentation skills that will serve you well in various aspects of life.
  • You will deepen your understanding of SMS and other rare diseases, broadening your knowledge and empathy.
  • You’ll have the opportunity to acquire up-to-date office skills, further enhancing your skill set.
  • You’ll be part of a dynamic, creative, and engaged team where your ideas and experiences will be valued and encouraged.

Most importantly, your role as an Awareness Ambassador is integral to the future success of our charity. You’ll be a key player in the team responsible for delivering events, support, and services that make a tangible difference in the lives of those affected by SMS. By joining us in this vital mission, you become part of a force for positive change, shaping a brighter future for our SMS community and beyond. Together, we can achieve remarkable accomplishments.
